Rudyard Lake
Rudyard Lake provides some of the most dramatic scenery to be found in the Staffordshire Moorlands and over 100,000 visitors go to her shores each year.
The Lake was built as a reservoir in 1797 and covers some 168 acres; even to this day the lake still supplies the canal system for which it was designed.
The parents of Rudyard Kipling met at a picnic organised by their employers at the Lake and were so enchanted with the area that they named their first born after it. Infact Rudyard Lake was recently named the 3rd most romantic spot in Britain.
